StuckOnAName Recordings

StuckOnAName was created and is co-operated by Ian Boult(y) and Phil Roberts. The studio was spawned following the demise of band of which both were founding members. Originally recording hardcore/powerviolence bands for their mates, the idea of expanding their modest recording setup into a full studio facility was born.

A few years and many, many bands on and much has changed! The studio, originally located at Boulty's house, now has it's own home in a converted industrial building located in the Sneinton area of Nottingham. After many months of gruelling contruction work the studio re-opened its doors in late 2007.

At StuckOnAName our primary goal if you to be comfortable. Whether you want it live 'n raw or seperated and polished we strive to give you what you need. We have 2 rooms available for recording, large and small. And we have experience with recording music ranging from 3-piece indie to ear-splitting metal! Tell us what you want, and thats what we'll try to deliver. But remember! We can only work with what you bring to the table, so the better you are the better we can make you sound.

Rates & Session Times

Session rates are nominally priced at £130 per day (non-inclusive of gear hire), but can vary depending on the nature and length of the project. A single days recording + mixing is £150. For larger projects such as album sessions we recommend that days be booked purely for mixing/mastering purposes. Feel free to contact us to discuss your requirements, we will always try to be flexible.

Recording sessions can be Mon-Sun, and generally run from 10am to 6pm. Later sessions are possible but not always available as we are a regularly booked rehearsal facility and it's generally not advisable for the two to overlap. As above, feel free to call and discuss your needs.

Equipment & Gear Hire

Our studio recording setup consists of a custom Intel Quad-core PC with 4Gb of system RAM running Steinberg Cubase 4 and a truckload of plugins. Signal routing is handled by a classic Sountracs analogue console, featuring great "British" sounding EQ's, an API 3124+ quad preamp unit, and a state of the art Lynx Aurora 16 Analogue to Digital converter system. Giving us access to the best audio reproduction capability money can buy. Monitoring is via a pair of Adam P11 studio monitors.

We have a wide range of microphones from Shure, Audix, Audio-Technica, CAD, AKG, Studio Projects and SE Electronics available.

For hire purposes we have a full drumkit, and bass & guitar amplification by Marshall, Line6, Ashdown & Warwick. All gear hire is priced at £10 per item per day of recording.
